EAZ, MINISTRY OF TOURISM PARTNER TO HOST AFRiNOIR TOURISM FESTIVAL IN ZAMBIA

The Economics Association of Zambia (EAZ) has partnered with the Ministry of Tourism and Arts to create demand for Zambia’s tourism sector.

The partnership is as a result of the interventions which arose from the recent held National Economic Summit, in which the two institutions resolved to work together for the betterment of the Zambian tourism sector.

According to EAZ, Bristol Conferencing and Tours together with Aspera Group Inc. of USA and the association have reached an agreement to run the Zambia Africa Festival known as “AfroNoir” in December 2020 which is aimed at attracting over 10,000 American tourists to visit various parts of the country within a 7 day period.

The festival is expected to market Zambia as a preferred tourist destination in Africa as well as position the country’s tourism sector.

The EAZ said it will embark on a series of meetings with stakeholders like Voyagers, the hotel industry, tour operators and transport companies to ensure that the festival attracts not only Americans but also Zambians.

EAZ further said the major benefits of the festival include enhancing Zambia’s foreign exchange inflows, job creation, cultural exchange and also creating liquidity in the country.

The Economists body said the hosting of the conference will benefit all parts of the country as guided tours will include the mines, game parks, villages and other sites with emphasis on marketing the Northern circuit.

The Economic Association of Zambia with the National Economic Summit Group will also host the second edition of the National Economic Summit in July 2020.
