Musika is a non-profit company that works to stimulate private sector investment in smallholder markets.

Musika helps businesses to develop mutually beneficial and transparent commercial relationships with smallholders that integrate the provision of information and technology adoption, and provide confidence and long term incentives for smallholders to invest in their farming business.

Musika provides its corporate clients with high quality, commercially focused technical advice, business model support and where relevant, smart subsidies to bring down some of the initial risks in doing business with the smallholder market.

Musika also supports innovative market-based solutions to environmental issues and strives to ensure women are key participants in improved agricultural markets.

To provide world class business development services to Zambia's agricultural markets and to deepen and broaden the impact of economic growth to all levels of rural society.

Projects & Achievements

  • Musika works with over 60 corporate clients, ranging from multinational companies to small agribusinesses operating in remote markets across Zambia.
  • Over 2,000  new intermediaries (stockists, sales agents, small traders, vets assistants etc.) are providing a range of services to agribusiness and smallholder farmers.
  • Over 320,000 farmers nationwide are benefitting from improved market access for inputs, agricultural products, services and finance.
  • Over USD $15m of private capital has been leveraged in investment in the smallholder market and millions of dollars of new business generated between agribusiness and smallholders.
  • Over four years, more than USD $46m of increased income has accrued to Zambia's smallholder farmers as a result of improved agricultural market access.
